Really like it! beautiful colors...the pebble quilting really makes the rest pop. I would have chosen it, for what it's worth!

Yes I did the outer row first. I will also, in the future, sew a straigt stitch1/8 from the cut line BEFORE I cut next time. It will be covered by the satin stitch anyway and then I wont be fighting to keep it down while sewing the first round.

The double-row satin stitch border is something I haven't seen before - I'm guessing you do the outer row first?

The uncertainty about your home must be terrible. The story about the faucet is funny though.

You know, you could make baby keepsakes with these by including the first lock of hair in the piece as some of the threads. Have a the picture of the actual baby and there you go... hmmm...

I found you through the TIF blog comments and just want to say 1) oops on your hand -- no fun! I broke my arm last year and it's just not fun in the beginning! Even getting on the computer is a challenge. Doing your hair, etc - gives one new respect for the elderly! Healing thoughts -- can you knit or crochet? That might help heal things when you are able to do it.
Speaking of challenges, I like your work a lot -- is the abstract challenge you do the "yahoo group"?

Oh dear, how awful! I hope you're a righthanded woman, so you can draw properly. Maybe you can catch up with some of the new magazines. Have you read the latest Quilting Arts Magazine, I find that very inspiring. May be it helps you to get through this dreadful month of not being creative with your hands!
