I was notified on October 9, 2008 that I placed FIRST in the “My World in Black and White” show hosted by the group Fiberarts Connection of Southern California. The show will be travelling to several venues over the next couple of years. My art quilt is available for sale at the venues it will be shown in. I will update this post when I have the list of venue sites and dates.
“Up Into The Brittle Cold” made September 2008 – hand dyed, hand painted, machine quilted – all by me. This piece is 31″x36″
Artist’s Statement – Trees have always been special to me. It doesn’t matter what the season is, whether the leaves are small pale green, large dark green, rusty orange and curlingĀ in the cooling winds or non-existant. There is something mystical about the winter tree though, the promise of what is to come. This piece shows the magnificence & stalwartness of weathering through the brittle cold, waiting for the soft warm spring to bring new life and hope for the future.

Congratulations!
Your tree looks absolutely magnificent.
Amazing!
